CASL Samples

Welcome to our sample Canada Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) consent form sample page.

At Tegrita, one of our core values is Client Enablement, and as such we always strive to give our clients the best solutions to suit their specific needs. With the advent of CASL, we've encountered several use-cases requiring specialized solutions.

To that end, we've developed three different web form solutions integrated with Eloqua for our clients that demonstrate some possible approaches to trying to comply with CASL, and the following samples demonstrate the unique functionality of each of these real-life solutions. However, we do not promise or guarantee that these solutions, by themselves, are CASL-compliant. CASL is complex and broadly worded, and imposes significant penalties for non-compliance. We therefore recommend that every organization engaged in email marketing get legal advice from a qualified professional regarding CASL compliance. As described in more detail in the disclaimer below, Tegrita does not and cannot give advice or assurances about whether a particular solution or process complies with CASL.

Accompanying this web site is our CASL Handbook which provides detailed instructions on how to replicate these Samples in your own web environment. You can access the Handbook by clicking here.

Always Display Blank Opt-in

In this sample CASL form, the page scripting does a real-time lookup after the user has entered his/her email address.

If the user has a contact record, the country is prepopulated. If the contact has also opted in previously, it doesn't matter - the empty CASL checkbox is presented to the user requesting consent ALWAYS.

Please be aware that this sample form as a whole is not CASL compliant. Any web form through which users give CASL consent must contain other CASL-required content, including a description of the purposes for which consent is sought, certain contact information and a statement that consent can be withdrawn at any time. You should consult CASL and your legal counsel regarding what is required for CASL compliance.

1. User enters email address
3. User consents (or not)

By choosing to opt-in, you will receive periodic e-mail marketing communications.
